Eligibility Criteria

Each and every aspiring candidate should satisfy the academic qualifications required for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Moreover, no minimum or maximum age limit is specified by the university’s authority.

For academic qualification, a candidate should have cleared 10+2 with three years of Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). They must also possess a minimum of two-year experience in the profession. or In service Nurse who has passed 10th class (Matriculation) or its equivalent along with a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) for a duration of 3 years and a minimum of 5 years experience in the profession. Male nurses must note that if they have not done midwifery in the GNM program then they should produce a certificate in any of the nursing courses for a duration of 6-9 months, as stated by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) in lieu of midwifery. The university has set up no age bar for admission to the course.

The admission gates for Post Basic B.Sc Nursing course in IGNOU for working professionals will be regulated from the third week of November 2023. Aspirants who are eligible will be able to submit applications for this program with the assistance of the IGNOU Nursing Samarth Portal i.e. ignounursing.samarth.edu.in.
