Maharashtra B.Sc Nursing 2023: Every year, Maharashtra state conducts an admission process for the students who are willing to take admission to the B.Sc Nursing course. The complete admission process is based on a state or national-level entrance exam such as NEET. Therefore, aspirants have to qualify for the NEET exam to secure admission to top nursing colleges such as All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Several states of India conduct counseling rounds after the commencement of the NEET exam to offer admission to deserving candidates.

One has to pass the NEET exam with good scores to finally preserve admission to top government medical colleges. Also, National Testing Agency has scrapped the upper age limit to grant admission to medical courses. Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for the test, candidates must fulfill the mandatory eligibility criteria given by the conducting authority. Every state examination will provide the eligibility criteria as per their university therefore before applying just read the complete brochure or prospectus given by the institution authorities. Eligibility Criteria will be given through the official website.

For Admission to B.Sc. Nursing, all the category students should have cleared 12th with at least 45% marks with a science background, Chemistry/ Biology/ Physics as compulsory subjects from recognized board. All aspirants should hold a valid NEET score in order to apply for the exam.

Candidates should adhere to the following steps in order to fill exam application form:

  • Go on to apply for admission online on the college website.
  • Next, take part in the entrance exam by appearing in it and must prepare and score well to qualify and get a good All India Rank (AIR).
  • After getting a good rank, aspirants can shortlist the colleges based on their scores and the counseling session.
  • After the counseling session is held, they need to accept the seat in the colleges assigned to them.
  • Lastly, finalize the admission process by paying the admission fee at the scheduled time.

Application Fee:

The Application fee payment can be submitted to the Maharashtra CET Cell on the official website. Prior to the final submission of the application form, you can pay it online mode. Candidates of all the categories such as General/ OBC/ SC/ ST have to pay Rs.1000/- through Debit Card/ Net Banking/ Credit Card or by Demand Draft from Commercial Bank in India.

Exam Pattern

The entrance test commencing body will decide the examination format which will be as follows:

  • Candidates will take the offline mode of paper (pen-paper mode).
  • They have to attempt the query paper in languages such as English, Hindi, and Marathi.
  • The total time limit will be 3 hours to answer the queries.
  • They have to provide answers to total of 180 questions in the paper,
  • Questions will only be the objective type which will be for 720 marks in total.
  • At each correct response, they will be assigned 4 marks and lose 1 mark at every incorrect response.

Selection Process

The selection procedure will be carried out under the supervision of NEET-UG admission guidelines. After checking and evaluating all the answer sheets of the entrants, the authority will announce the minimum qualifying marks as per the category they belong. On the account of that merit list candidates will be chosen for admission and the list will be displayed on the official web portal.

To attend the counseling, candidates will have to fill preference form online first. Their shortlisting will be held as per the chosen list of colleges in preference form. Along with them, they have to bring all required documents at the time of counseling. Later on, a provisional merit list will be issued and published by the state CET cell of the eligible candidates. The counseling session will happen in many rounds till the last seat is completely filled. After the entire process, the final selection list will be released on the website.
