Eligibility Criteria
Satisfying the eligibility criteria is the most crucial part of any admission process. The eligibility criteria for this course is as under:
Indian nationalities will be eligible to apply for the entrance exam, however, they must produce the domicile certificate of the state of Jharkhand while appearing for admission.
For B.Sc Nursing:
- An aspirant who has passed class 12th with a minimum of 45% marks from any recognized board can apply for admission too.
- It is mandatory for the applicants to pass class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
- The applicant’s age should be 17 years as on 31st December 2024 or the year of admission.
For Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing:
- Those applying candidates who have passed higher secondary/ senior secondary/ intermediate from any recognized or known board are eligible.
- While applying for admission, the candidate’s age should not exceed 35 years as on 31st December 2024 or the year of admission.
- Besides this, they should possess a registered general nursing and midwifery certificate as R.N.R.M. from the state nurses registration council.

Result and Merit List
The B.Sc nursing result of the entrance examination taken by the aspirants will be announced by the competent board which is JCECEB. Appeared students will be able to easily check the result by logging in to the official website of JCECEB- www.jceceb.gov.in. They will be asked to give their application number and date of birth only after which they can attain their result. JCECEB will issue the selection list three to five days after the result declaration. Furthermore, the merit list will be assembled on the basis of the aspirant’s scores and categories. However, the conducting board will issue the individual merit list for both programs i.e. B.Sc. Nursing and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
Tie-Breaking Procedure
If more than one candidate attains the same scores, then the board will follow tie-breaking rules as given below:
B.Sc. Nursing:
- Candidates attaining higher marks in chemistry and biology will receive first preference.
- Name of the entrant in alphabetical order.
- First priority is given to the contender who is older in age.
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing:
- Name of the entrant in alphabetical order.
- Older candidates will receive first priority.
Counselling Process
Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board will carry out the counseling process after the outcome of the entrance exam is released. Seekers are required to qualify for the entrance test to get entry into the desired course. Then, they have to physically report at the counseling venue within the assigned date and time and they should not forget to carry original documents along with them.
